Dear ,
You have something valuable...

We all have something that we can give to help other people. Whether that something is practical like money or material things, or whether it’s our time, friendship or skills, we each have something valuable in our possession that we can give to better the lives of those around us.

Did you know that God is a giver? Most of us will know that famous scripture in John 3:16- “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...”. He spared nothing, not even His own Son to show us how much we are loved and valued by Him.

The very act of giving is rooted in God’s kind of love. It’s totally selfless - if done with the right motive and not seeking anything back in return. In fact, God calls us to give to those who can’t give back. God calls us to express His image, His nature, and His love to the broken and poor in spirit. What’s more, God can take whatever we are able to give and multiply its impact in the lives of others.

God is drawn to those who give what they have out of a pure heart. The widow in Mark 12:41 had nothing but two mites, which was her whole livelihood. She knew she wouldn’t receive anything back, but she got Jesus’ attention. He saw her heart, and it personally ministered to Him. He said to His disciples that she had given more than all those who gave out of their abundant wealth.

Whatever it is - your money, time, resources, skills, and abilities, when you surrender it to God, He can do immeasurably more with it than you could ever ask or imagine. But it’s according to the power that works in us - Ephesians 3:20. In other words, do we recognise what has been given to us, and are we willing to obey God in what He calls us to do with it.

Even if you feel you have nothing to offer, not only has God given each of us unique giftings and abilities, but He has also given us His Spirit, His nature, and His character, so that we are equipped to be a blessing to others. So, are you willing to step out with what He’s given you?

We pray that this will encourage you to allow God to reveal all He has given to you to bless others with.

We also invite you to prayerfully consider whether you would like to make a one-off gift to our work with vulnerable children and families in the Philippines. We are urgently needing funds to continue our overseas sponsorship programmes.

If you have £2 or £3 to spare, why not use that to benefit someone who will never be able to give that money back... but it will impact their lives in ways you couldn’t imagine, and ultimately, it will give HOPE.

Thank you.
